Telepathy is thought to many things including instinct and intuition. In reality, it the communication without using speech, writing or hand signs. It is, at its base, mental communication.
If you cannot use the methods that we have all grown accustomed to, how exactly are we communication then? The answer is that you are doing so on a completely different level than we are used to. This method is a method that is believed to have existed from the beginning of time in animals. As scientists believe we are direct descendants of animals, why would we not have this same ability to communicate silently?
Many believe that ancient man inherently had this ability to communicate with each other as a necessity of survival and that some may not have lost this ability over time.
Why did society lose their abilities of telepathy for the most part? The answer is not an easy one but belief and practice are the most likely culprits. As society progressed, our beliefs changed and a big part of that was religion. The faith?s that people practice today all but discount telepathy and actually make this ability out to be a type of demonic possession.
It may just be that it has been bred out of us or that we lost the need for it due to other forms of communication.
In fact, telepathy is sometimes called the 6th sense or your third eye that sees things your other two cannot. While these two facets are not actually related to each other, you get the general idea that these skills are equated to telepathy originating from the second nature that humans and animals are sometimes talked to possess.
There are many ways that modern humans may now experience forms of telepathy. The instinct that we all think of a gut reaction. In an even more base level, when a woman is pregnant, the baby can not tell the mother what nutrients it is lacking. Instead, the baby communicates telepathically by sending out cravings to the mother. Not all cravings are the funny ice cream and pickle types. The mother generally gets cravings that are vitamins and nutrients that may not be normal in her every day diet. By sending out these telepathic thoughts, the baby can communicate it?s need to the mother without having to speak directly to the mother.
It is felt that with the advent of Christianity and Muslim religions, humans began to lose their sense of telepathy or sixth sense. This is because these religions have claimed that this gift or sense was a vice of the darker powers of the world and not a positive and natural ability. This type of censorship has effectively helped to eradicate the sixth sense from existence and we no longer trust our telepathic ability.
It may be that as the world population grew, our need for telepathy began to wane as our survival was not dependent upon it and putting this sense on to a higher power made more sense at the time.
Of course, this also brings to light as to why organized religion is so adamant that this ability does not exist unless you are possessed by the devil. What is their fear of this natural ability? The opinion is that if anyone can have this ability, it would make the power of a deity less impressive. You would basically be admitting that anyone can see the future or communicate silently. These abilities are supposed to belong to a higher power, not the common man.
